Terms of Service
Effective date: 1 June 2026
NeuroConnect SA is a free, non-profit platform helping South African families of neurodivergent children find therapy services, understand disability grants, and navigate school rights. By using this platform you agree to these terms. Please read them — they are written in plain language and are short.
1. Who we are
Aafiya Med Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) operate the website at neuroconnect.app and any associated mobile applications (together, the “Platform”).
The Platform is provided free of charge. We do not charge users, sell data, or accept payment for listings. Our goal is to make support more accessible for every family in South Africa, regardless of income or location.
2. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using the Platform you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or have the consent of a parent or guardian), that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
3. Information is guidance only — not professional advice
Nothing on NeuroConnect SA constitutes medical, therapeutic, legal, or financial advice. All content — including articles, grant information, rights guides, service listings, and community posts — is provided for general informational purposes only.
Always consult a qualified professional (doctor, therapist, social worker, or attorney) before making decisions about your child's health, education, or welfare. Grant eligibility information reflects our best understanding of SASSA policy at the time of writing; rules change and individual circumstances vary.
We are not responsible for any action taken or not taken based on information found on this Platform.
4. Service listings
Listings in our directory are compiled from public sources and community submissions. We make reasonable efforts to verify contact details and service information, but we cannot guarantee accuracy. Services may have changed hours, moved, or closed.
Always contact a service directly to confirm availability, costs, and eligibility before making an appointment. If you find incorrect information, please use the “Report an issue” link on any listing or email us at listings@neuroconnect.org.za.
Inclusion of a service in our directory is not an endorsement. We do not receive payment or any form of compensation from listed services.
5. Your account and child profiles
You may create an account using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Child profile data — diagnoses, appointments, milestones — is stored in your account and is accessible only to you. We do not share this data with third parties, advertisers, or government bodies. You can delete your profile data at any time from the platform settings.
Please do not enter another person's personal information without their consent. Do not create profiles for children you do not have legal guardianship or parental responsibility for.
6. Community posts
The community section allows users to share experiences and ask questions. By posting you confirm that your content is truthful, does not violate anyone's privacy, and does not contain:
- Hate speech, discrimination, or harassment
- Medical claims, diagnoses, or treatment advice presented as fact
- Advertising, spam, or commercial promotions
- Personal information about others (including children) without consent
- Content that is illegal under South African law
We reserve the right to remove posts that violate these guidelines and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly do so.
7. Intellectual property
Content we create — articles, guides, UI design — is owned by NeuroConnect SA and is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. You may share and adapt it for non-commercial purposes with attribution.
User-generated content (community posts, listing submissions) remains yours. By posting you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the Platform.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. Internet access and device compatibility are your responsibility.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, NeuroConnect SA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed ZAR 500.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. It forms part of these Terms. By using the Platform you also agree to our Privacy Policy.
If you have privacy questions, contact us at privacy@neuroconnect.org.za.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting a notice on the Platform or by email (if you have an account) at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
We are committed to resolving disputes amicably. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at info@aafiya.app before pursuing formal action.
